Bohemian Rhapsody

By Rosanna Lee

Aside from florals that has been dominating the fashion stage for the past few seasons, it’s good to know that exotic prints and coloured patterns are making their way back into the runway with a grand entrance too!

Boho chics can now rejoice as the return of maxi dresses, loose-fitting blouses and earth-themed accessories allows us to set aside the floral rompers, denim shirts and bandage skirts for once. After all, the perks of being a boho chic is that you are free to mix and match whatever you feel like wearing, unleashing the free-spirited independent woman who’s not afraid of what others think of her.

Here a few picks that we think would appeal the inner gypsy in you ;)

Wild prints are the latest offering from Younique Trio and get yours for only RM36. Currently they are running a promotion whereby those who have accessed and liked their FB page are automatically entitled a 10% discount on all items. So then, what are you waiting for ;)

Maxi dresses are great for casual days and dressy nights depending on how you style it, be it with a pair of gladiators or a glam pair of heels. Invest in this summer outfit by purchasing yours from Curvy Queens Closet at only RM59.

Monochrome prints are back in demand and we could not resist this alluring number that comes with a playful sexyback. With 3 different prints to choose from, you will have a hard time deciding which one to snap up! Definitely the not for the faint-hearted, give this a go at only RM42 from mango + Orangie.

We spotted this beautiful stunner too at RM59, a steal considering that the colour is simply unique and classy :) Invest in your bohemian get-up from here at MilkTee Boutique :D

Earthy and kitschy at the same time, it’s a dress that will help you breeze through hot Malaysian weather. Yours for only RM67 at MilkTee Boutique. Do you know that they are one of the few blog-shops that comes with a return policy? Now you can shop with full confidence and push aside your worries when it comes to shopping online.

Timeless with an Edge

Peep

He-She-It

Always loved that dangerous looking punk rock look, but not daring enough to go all the way? Try androgynous chic! Well, the term androgynous more or less refers to a guyish chic kind of fashion -think boyfriend shirts and blazers. In my personal opinion, this androg' chic is a fashion trend that has a bit of that punk rock edge -which is what makes this trend all the worth while.

You can rock this ripped long tank in both ways - a top or a dress. Pair it with some punk rock looking jeans or some edgy accessories and yeowzers! someone looks fierce! :) (without seeming too intimidating that is) Yours for only RM39!

What separates this from every other floral dress you ask? Look at the puffed up collars -it makes all the difference. The thing about puffed up collars, they are one of those fashion trends which originates from music videos (think Lady Gaga in the beginning of the music video for Telephone) Initially they don't work well for street fashion.

But once its toned down, its wow factor is just amazing. The air of drama and sophistication is just awesome. Two trends in one dress, and for only RM50!

Annual Japanese Film Festival

The Japanese Film Festival (JFF) is back!

Starting from 17 June to 21st June, Japanese movies will be screened at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) Midvalley, and at 1Utama’s New Wing, and it will hit Penang on the 25th to 27th June at GSC Gurney Plaza.

This is the 7th annual JFF to be held in Malaysia, and is organized by Golden Screen Cinemas, the Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur and GSC International Screens, collaborating with the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur and Consulate-General of Japan in Penang.

These films are in Japanese audio, which means that you will be relying on subtitles. Fear not, the subtitles are very reliable and intelligible. This is coming from a person who goes to JFFs, so trust me.

With that being said, there are eight movies that will be screened. All of them had been premiered at film festivals, and has either won an award/awards or has been nominated. And you know that if a movie has won or is nominated for an award, it is good.

To top it all off, GSC is giving away complimentary passes! Simply access their site here, click the link that says complimentary passes, print it and present it to GSC MidValley and, voila! You have redeemed (read: free) movie tickets!

Isn’t that awesome?

Do note that complimentary passes are up or grabs for a limited time only!

Yes we can-can!

By Rosanna Lee

We've seen it splashed in fashion magazines everywhere and there's no denying that the can-can hat is one of the must-haves this season. Perfect for our hot and humid weather, we've been searching high and low for these delightful sun shielders and it was certainly a pleasant surprise when we found a site that not only stocks them but takes pre-orders too.

At an irresistible price of RM35 (if you pre-order now), we call it a definite steal! And while you are at it, check out how a satisfied customer styled and customized her can can hat :)

Go check it out at http://mizucloset.com/ and be sure to browse through their other goods as well. They've got a lot of other ViVi-inspired goodies so be sure to keep a sharp lookout for them ;)

Spring Accessories Galore

Seeing that denim and florals are making a big comeback this season, here's a tip on how to update your wardrobe without splurging a fortune : accessorise! Yes, remember that tiny details do count when it comes dressing up and the best thing about them? You can still wear it after the season is over and no one would even know the difference ;)

Here are a few of my favourite picks for this spring :

Dainty earrings will give any outfit a dose of femininity making it a staple on our dressing table all year round. Charmingly crafted from polymer clay rose and Swarovski butterflies, it's a steal at RM22!
